Animal bite wounds are often infected with bacteria from the animal's oral flora. We report what we believe to be the first case of bacteremia with Bacteroides pyogenes resulting from an infected cat bite.

We report transmission of Blastomyces dermatitidis fungal infection from a pet kinkajou to a man. When treating a patient with a recalcitrant infection and a history of an animal bite, early and complete animal necropsy and consideration of nonbacterial etiologies are needed.

Transmission of coccidioidomycosis to a human via a cat bite.

We report an unusual case of coccidioidomycosis in the arm of a veterinary assistant without pulmonary symptoms. The patient had been bitten on the hand by a cat which was later diagnosed with disseminated disease. The patient responded to fluconazole therapy and remained asymptomatic at 2 months after cessation of therapy.
